Year's End

Tired and out of tune, I'm like any one of my guitars, though I got this way from too much use, not too little. The wake of Advent and Christmas find me this way every year, although this year it's all ministry exhaustion and no emotional exhaustion as in past years. I'm grateful to God.

I'm reading Ligon Duncan's little book, "Fear Not!" It reminds me yet again of the plain, true gospel. In fact, he describes Christians as those who believe in JESUS AS HE IS OFFERED IN THE GOSPEL. He uses this phrase often to distinguish between genuine faith in Christ and any one of the multiple hybrids out there. I think this is a distinction that is easy to forget. We have a therapeutic, self-improvement gospel coming from one end of Christendom and a neo-gnostic, works-oriented gospel coming from the other. The distinguishing corrective for all is JESUS AS HE IS OFFERED IN THE GOSPEL.

Fear not indeed!

May 2011 be the year of the gospel.

The next chapter of "Keep Your Eyes on the Road"

I'm excited to be working on this next chapter of the radio-outreach-broadcast ministry of Goodwill Church. I'll write more here shortly. God bless!
